At the end of his career, after vowing to retire from composing, Brahms wrote two sonatas for his clarinetist friend Richard Mühlfield, but quickly provided alternate versions for the viola. Naples Philharmonic Orchestra members Jane Mitchell and Eric Anderson and pianist Alexandra Carlson will present a unique reading of both sonatas, alternating instruments between the movements and perhaps even playing some movements together as a trio.
