Walking through the seasons of the Church together.
Our Year of Faith
Walking through the seasons of the Church together.
Formation at Trinity-by-the-Cove follows the Church year-moving from seasons of celebration to seasons of reflection-so children and youth can grow in Scripture, worship, and life in Christ.
An evergreen guide to the seasons, themes, and family moments in our formation year.
Most formation runs during the school year, with seasonal events throughout the calendar.
Children, youth, and families-plus anyone who wants to participate in parish life.
Visit on Sunday, take part in seasonal events, or volunteer to help.
Seasons & Highlights
Rally Day
We begin the year with a joyful parish-wide day to kick off formation-time together for children, parents, and the whole parish. It's also a chance to register, learn about the year ahead, and volunteer.
Advent Preparations
As we prepare for Christmas, formation themes focus on the meaning of Christ's coming. Cookie Sunday and hands-on activities help children and youth enter the season with joy and purpose.
Christmas Celebration
Christmas Eve includes services designed for families, including the blessing of the creche and a joyful beginning to our celebration of the birth of Jesus.
Epiphany
We celebrate the revelation of Christ to the world with seasonal worship and family-friendly events, including the Epiphany Pageant and a return to formation after the holidays.
Lenten Journey
Lent invites reflection, renewal, and preparation for Easter. Children and youth explore Holy Week themes, and families often participate in a service project as we put faith into action.
Easter Resurrection
Holy Week and Easter are central to parish life. Easter Sunday includes joyful worship and family traditions like the Easter Egg Hunt and reception on the lawn.
Season Close
As the school year wraps up, themes turn toward Pentecost and the ongoing life of the Spirit. We ease the pace of programming while encouraging families to stay connected through worship and parish life.
